Miss Emily Louise den Boer and Mr. David Andrew Mackie were united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at seven o'clock in the evening at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Houston, Texas. The Nuptial Mass was officiated by the Reverend Gabriel Ezeh. Music was provided by Mrs. Carolyn Maddox, organist, and Mr. David Paxton, cantor. Scripture readings were given by Mr. Mark Mackie, Mrs. Maria Mamaux, and Mr. Jonathan Mackie. Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception at The Intercontinental Hotel with music provided by Complete Music. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Grappino di Nino with special candy favors made by the bride's grandmother, Mrs. Louise Taylor. On Friday, June 12, a bridesmaids' luncheon was hosted by Mrs. Kathryn Weed, Mrs. Becky Veronie, friends of the bride, and Mrs. Shirley Carmine, grandmother of the groom.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David H. den Boer of Cypress, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey W. Taylor, Sr. of Statesville, North Carolina, Mr. H. A. den Boer of Greensboro, North Carolina, and the late Mrs. Patricia den Boer. Mrs. Betty Ray Troxler, a special frined of the bride’s family, was also in attendance. The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Kurt D. Mackie of Harlingen, Texas. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon L. Carmine of Harlingen, Texas, Mrs. Marian Mackie of Flower Mound, Texas, and the late Mr. Frank D. Mackie.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an exclusive custom designed gown by designer Mary Denney of MLD Limited. The bridal gown was in a gorgeous ivory silk satin accented with crystal beading under the bodice. The mother of the bride and the mother of the groom wore designer gowns of silk satin and silk shantung also by Mary Denney. The bride carried a bouquet of ivory hydrangea, vandella roses, calla lilies and stephanotis accented with a pink star gazer lily.

Serving as Maid of Honor was Miss Christina Ruggiero, one of the bride's best friends. Bridesmaids included Miss Mary Mackie, sister of the groom, Miss Paige Veronie, Miss Lauren LePori, and Miss Emily Krennerich, friends of the bride, and Miss Meghan Veronie, in loving memory. The girls wore black and white silk Dupioni sleeveless spectator halter dresses designed by Kate Unger. They carried bouquets of blue hydrangea and vandella roses. Members of the House Party were Mrs. Tessa Cervantes, Miss Brytanie Piana, and Miss Erin Wait. Miss Lauren Parrott served as Flower Girl and Master Lance Pizzi was the Ring Bearer. Master Travis Parrott served as Program Attendant.

Mr. Tyler Meals, best friend of the groom, served as the Best Man. Groomsmen were Mr. Jonathan Mackie and Mr. Stephen Mackie, brothers of the groom, Mr. Michael Haas, Mr. Matthew Koeneke, and Mr. Matthew Virnau, friends of the groom. Ushers included Mr. Steven Blackmon, Mr. Mark Caldwell, Mr. William Essary, Mr. Kyle Grant, Mr. Blake Virgilio, and Mr. Wade Whitmore.

The bride is a graduate of Cy-Fair High School. She graduated with honors from Texas A&M University. She is currently a medical student at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas.

The groom is a graduate of the Marine Military Academy in Harlingen, Texas. He also graduated from Texas A&M University. He is in marketing and sales with Beldon Construction Company as a commercial salesman in San Antonio, Texas.

After a honeymoon to Maui, Hawaii, the couple will reside in San Antonio, Texas.
