For those on a tight budget (and who isn’t these days), you can still get your dad something that’s pretty cool for $10 and under in the Triad for Father’s Day.

* Intech 12-pack of golf balls for $4.99 at Kmart or 12-packs of Ram balls for $5.99 at Sports Authority.
* Select movies on DVD for $3.98 at Target including one of my favorites: “Goodfellas.” DVDs at Target for $10 such as “The Dark Knight.”
* Entire stock of St. John’s Bay polos are $9.99 at JC Penney.
* Digital photo album keychain for $9.99 at Walgreens.
* Walmart has these items for $10 each: 12-volt auto vacuum; 4-pack of Guinness pint glasses; 3-piece vacuum bottle and mug set; travel atomic alarm clock; men’s graphic T-shirts; Winchester 2-piece limited edition knife set; Winchester 4-piece knife and tool set and glove box tool kit.

Being in the cool, air conditioned comfort of a movie theater is not a bad way to spend a hot summer day.
And if you can spend that summer day not spending much? That gets four stars in my book.
Former Savvy Shopper columnist Amy Joyner Buchanan is among several area bloggers who have recently created lists of free and discounted kids’ and family movies throughout the summer in the Triad.
Her blog can be found here..
Over at the MomsWhoSave blog, you’ll also find a list of where to take the kiddies to the movies on a budget.

I still get an e-mail once in a while regarding a list I compiled in March based on what shops and restaurants we’d like to see in the Triad.
The latest e-mail came from Jean Allen, who’d like to see a Souplantation & Sweet Tomatoes in Greensboro, plus a Trader Joe’s, one of the most popular reader suggestions.
She writes: “The addition of these two establishments would make a lot of people very happy!”
Something missing from the list? Let me know by submitting a comment on my blog, Bargain Blog.
