Katharine Wright Gillespie and Theodore Allen Wells were united in marriage on June 13th, 2009 at All Saints Episcopal Church in Phoenix, Arizona. The Reverend Marian Fortner officiated. Following the ceremony, the parents of the bride hosted a reception at the Phoenix Art Museum.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Gillespie of Greensboro. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Methodist University and Master's degree in Education from Arizona State University. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wagner of High Point and Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Gillespie of Richmond, Virginia,
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Wells of Des Moines, Iowa. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Williams College and will attend law school at Cornell University in the fall.
The bride was given in marriage by her father and attended by her sister Liesl Hickey as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Joanna Blackstone, Emily Green, Kristen Smith, and Laura Durbin, and Erin Clemmer. Haley Brink was a junior bridesmaid and Mackenzie Wagner, Annabelle Wagner, and Olivia Jackson were flower girls.
The groom chose his brother Sam Wells as the best man, along with groomsmen Will Lambert, John Hilmes, Andrew Mink, Brandon Clemmer, and ring bearer Averett Hickey.
Following a wedding trip to Scandinavia, the couple will reside in Ithaca, New York.
