GREENSBORO — If you owe fines for parking tickets, you won't have to pay late fees in December.

The Greensboro City Council approved the Parking Ticket Amnesty Program at its meeting Tuesday night. The program will run from Dec. 1 to Dec. 31.

Under the amnesty program, people with Greensboro parking tickets can pay their fines without having to pay the late fee. Most parking tickets are $5, but the city adds a $25 fee for each ticket not paid within 45 days.

When the amnesty program ends, the city will start towing cars with at least three tickets more than 90 days overdue.

For more information about the program and payment options, call 373-2503. You can pay parking tickets online here.
