GREENSBORO — The Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation has hired two former transportation directors from a pair of its major transit partners, Guilford County and High Point.

PART announced today that former Guilford transportation director Mark Kirstner and Phil Wylie, who held the same title in High Point, will join the regional group in planning and management roles.

"They are both a perfect fit for us as we rapidly grow our organization," said Brent McKinney, director of the regional transit agency that serves Guilford and 10 other Triad counties.

Kirstner led the county's Transportation and Mobility Services office for several years before stepping down about a month ago. He will be a senior transportation planner with PART, McKinney said.

Wylie worked for more than 37 years in public transportation before retiring as High Point's transportation chief late last year. He will manage safety programs for PART, McKinney said.
