School board to consider new administrator

What: Guilford County Board of Education meeting

When: 6 p.m. Thursday

Where: Guilford County Schools Central Office, 712 N. Eugene St., Greensboro

On TV: Meetings are broadcast live on GCS Cable Channel 2, with replays aired the next day at 1 and 7 p.m. and the Saturday after the meeting at 1 p.m.

What's going on?

  • Setting the traditional school calendar.
  • A presentation on last year's performance evaluation scores.
  • Amendments to the assignment and transfer policy for licensed employees.
  • Approval of a new position and new hiring for the chief of staff. Superintendent Maurice "Mo" Green is proposing the creation of a chief administrative officer position to be filled by current Chief of Staff Eric Becoats. The board will consider hiring Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools spokeswoman Nora Carr as chief of staff.

Want to be heard? Speakers can address the board for three minutes during the public comments period. You must sign up before the meeting or call the office to sign up before 5 p.m.
